In the Community — Cleveland Center for Eating Disorders

CCED takes pride in supporting local organizations and educating the community about eating disorder treatment.

The Cleveland Center for Eating Disorders is committed to educating the community and building awareness about the dangers of eating disorders and the importance of early treatment.


CCED supports several nonprofit organizations, including the Suicide Prevention Alliance, the National Eating Disorders Association, FEAST and the Academy for Eating Disorders, providing educational programming and volunteer support, as well as monetary donations.

EAT (It's Not About Food), April 15-May 2

In addition, the Cleveland Center for Eating Disorders will be the lead sponsor of this spring’s “EAT (It’s Not About Food),” a theatre production organized and performed by the Fairmount Center for the Arts.

 

Family & Friends Community Support Group - 2nd Tuesday of each month

Cleveland Center of Eating Disorders welcomes families, friends and significant others to join in the monthly community support groups to support those struggling with an eating disorder. Discussion topics include general education on eating disorders, the treatment process, advocacy efforts for improved insurance coverage, and more.

The Family & Friends Community Support Group begins March 9, and will continue the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The support groups will take place at the center, and are free and open to the community.

Brown Bag for professionals - 2nd Wednesday of each month

Local professionals working in the field of eating disorders are invited to the monthly Brown Bag sessions held the second Wednesday of each month from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. at Cleveland Center for Eating Disorders. Each Brown Bag session includes a speaker, announcements, group discussions and one Continuing Education Unit (CEU) to mental health practicioners.
