CCED’s Adult Intensive Outpatient Program

The Cleveland Center for Eating Disorders offers intensive outpatient treatment of anorexia and bulimia for adults suffering from an eating disorder. We encourage you to speak with our Trusted Specialist.

adult Intensive Outpatient treatmentOur adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to provide intermediate outpatient therapy for individuals suffering from an eating disorder. Patients meet three to five days a week, up to three hours each day, for a total of nine to 15 hours.

Throughout the week, adults attend scheduled group therapy sessions, have their weights and vitals (blood pressure and pulse) taken three times a week and eat meals and/or snacks in a supportive group environment.

Our adult IOP group outpatient therapy sessions each week may include:

  • Skills groups to teachadults the necessary skills for coping and emotion regulation.
  • Nutritional support to help children and teens understand healthy eating and proportions.
  • We work with adults to set goals for themselves and then discuss how they can manage them without engaging in problematic behaviors.
